Here are the steps you need to know to set up and play a match on an OSP server.
1. Set the server to the game mode you want with:
/callvote mode <available_modes>
The standard OSP modes are Free-For-All, 1v1, QIL TDM, TeamplayDM, CTF, and
ClanArena. However, the server may not be configured for all configurations
(or may have additional modes), so to get the list of available modes from
the server, use:
/callvote mode ?
In addition, you may need to turn the Railgun-only Instagib mode on or off with:
/callvote instagib <0|1>
2. Change to the map you want to play on with:
/callvote map <mapname|map_id>
To get a list of available maps and their IDs from the server, use:
/callvote map ?
3. Check any votable options you might be interested in changing with:
/callvote <option_name> ?
To get a list of all votable server variables from the server, use:
/callvote ?
4. Once the teams are in place, lock the teams with:
/lock
To unlock the teams to change the players on your team, use:
/unlock
If needed, you may also prevent spectators from observing a game with:
/speclock
Once speclock is used, all spectators are left immobile and facing a wall. A team may allow specific spectators to follow their team by inviting them with the specinvite command. First, get a list of players IDs with:
/players
Then invite a specific player to spectate your team with:
/specinvite <player_id>
5. Have the players set their status to "ready" with:
/ready
A player may also set their status back to "not ready" with:
/notready
6. Play the game. During the game, teams can call timeouts/timeins with:
/time
That's it. Have fun playing your matches on an OSP server!
There are loads of other options/commands under OSP, but these are the
main set of commands needed for basic match play. Type: \? for a list
of all available server commands. Any command followed with a "?" will
give more info on that command.
For further details, check out the osp/Docs directory, sit back, relax,
and read up on OSP Tourney DM/CA/CTF :) |
